Sweet Potato Soup
This is the one soup recipe I make over and over again. (Dont tell but I'm not the biggest fan of soup.... I cant give you a sensible reason why), but sometimes a beautiful homemade soup ticks all the boxes, comfort, nourishment, seasonal, homely.
This soup is made with a homemade bone broth, rich and gelatinous as you can see from the photo below and incredibly healing for the gut. If you want to read more about bone broth head over to the Western Price Foundation website and read all about the benefits of this functional food.
Fresh Turmeric; finally this beautiful root spice is readily available in UK supermarkets but if you cannot find it as the fresh root, simply substitute with ground turmeric. Fresh turmeric has a more subtle and earthy note than its dried cousin and it packs a serious nutritional punch it is a member of the ginger family, and the vibrant yellow pigment, curcumin, has significant anti-inflammatory properties for this recipe I have grated fresh turmeric into a soup with garlic, ginger, sweet potato, carrots and a slow cooked chicken broth
